Do the holidays cause depression?

That's what they say. But it's not true, though Jeremy seems to be acting this folk belief out. I think that's just his way of having fun.

I don't think they cause depression; aid and abet is more like it....

I don't know what to make of it, this depression - women in particular seem to weep after it's all said and done, the gifts opened and fondled and taken home, loved ones gone back home, kids acting like brats again, the husband pretending to be pleased with what he got, that stale turkey leg staring them in the face when they open the fridge, reminding them of the warmth and joy and togetherness, now gone, suddenly gone, the gravy is going rancid and the dressing hard as rock and nobody remembers it let alone eats it. Who appreciates the hard work and planning, the decor and atmoshphere that is suddenly unplugged like the Christmas tree? The garbage cans are filled with bright paper, now subjected to prowling alley cats poking, digging, peeing and sniffing about over what had once been bright tokens of happiness. Its cause for weeping.
