The 11,111,111th visitor.

Was it you? It was someone in Macon, Georgia, who was here for 5 minutes and 16 seconds, entering on the main page, and clicking into posts on Kathleen Willey, tahini tracking, and the bad case of Althouse Derangement Syndrome. Thanks for stopping by! And thanks to all the 11,111,110 visitors. Are they the same 11,111 readers, coming back 1,000 times? I don't know, but thanks!

IN THE COMMENTS: Yoda writes:
That may have been me, Ann. Greetings from Macon, GA. The comment about Greg Allman gives me the chance to brag about my city's great musical heritage: The Allman Brothers Band, Phil Walden and Capricorn Records, Otis Redding and Little Richard (somewhere I have a copy of Little Richard's Macon Police Department rap sheet.)

So, do I win a prize?
Can't really think of a prize... other than this front-page mention.

Interesting time on your post. Too bad it wasn't Eastern time.

Congrats, Ann. Although I have one complaint. Whenever I come here to your site and then leave (after reading one too many comments from your Republican Fanboys), I can never watch You Tube videos in my browser. I have to close out, and then reopen my browser to watch videos. Your site has a curse!

I was off by one! 110, not 111.

"Missed it by...that much"

Ann,

It could be you have 11 regulars averaging a million visits. Lets see, over 5 years thats about 548 times a day, seems about right to me.

The only problem is that any way you evenly divide it, you are still going to have a fractional person.

Regardless, congratulations, pop that cork this evening.

Hmm, this irregular had made maybe 500 vistis here all these years. So, maybe the number consists of 20000 irregulars stopping by every now and then. Plus John, of course.
:D

Well, of course its also possible that the bloggoddess herself is responsible for about ten million clicks. By John's calculation, this would compute to only 5480 visits per day. Regarding the short response time of our host, this certainly is possible.

Hey, Althouse, do the majority of clicks come from Madison/Brooklyn? Hmm?
:P

Professor Althouse,
I believe your friend TRex lives in Georgia.

"Professor Althouse,´I believe your friend TRex lives in Georgia."

Bwuahahaha! That would be fitting! The ole foulmouthed dynosaur himself. This would be an effing great coincidence!
:D

No thank you Althouse.

Pictures of flowers, tits, vlogs, american idol, debate blogs, some law crap, gay stuff, high drama, egg salad sandwiches, no questioning of anything this administration has ever done, hilary disgust, fights with evil liberals.

What more could we ask for?

I thought for a moment that it might be me, since I live in Macon and use Cox communications. That is my home computer, however, and I was at work at 10:54 am, so my claim to fame is gone.

LOL.

Why read anything else? I've read it all for you and sifted out what you know you want.

Just checked with Gregg Allman down in Macon.

It wasn't him.

caffeine soldier,
Is that a picture of Hinckley?

It's Warhol, isn't it? Anyway, I like the idea of being a star in the commentosphere. It's harder to see who the great commenters are, because they're tucked into the back pages, but it is a cool idea to have ambitions limited to commenting. I was saying something like this on the Stanford panel, a recommendation for people who worried about getting their names out.

Hey, as of now I've had 599 visitors to my blog since October 5th. You could be the lucky 600th.

John Kindley said...

Too late y'all. According to Sitemeter my 600th visitor was located in Concord, New Hampshire, arrived at my site by using the search term "baptist picketing quaker" (strangely, my site turned up first in that search), and stayed for 0 seconds. Now you'll probably have to wait a couple weeks before I approach my 700th visitor milestone.

I guess not. I mean, why should there be a picture of Hinckley on a book about Andy Warhol?
:P

"It's Warhol, isn't it?"
Wow. And once again, I'm impressed, Althouse. Yes, it is.

"Anyway, I like the idea of being a star in the commentosphere."
Hmm? Uh, sry, but you're mistaken here. Or are you teasing me? No, I don't think of myself as a star, I don't want to be a star, it's just that the gray shades go nicely with my pen name, that this picture actually has quite a resemblance to me, and that my first name happens to be Andy, too...

And thx for acknoledging the merits of limiting to commenting. Well, for me, it simply is more fun than blogging, and then, why fall into the trap of the Peter Principle? :D

However, we commenters are dependent on bloggers to provide the daily dose of food for thought, so pls keep up your level of output! Oh, and how about that video of your daily workout? Where can I order it?
:D

Being a star in the commentosphere is an interesting aspiration, and interesting concept.

I don't know about aspiring to be a star, but my blog now mainly consists of a running compendium of my comments on much higher traffic blogs. That way I don't run the risk of spending a lot of time on posts that nobody reads, and I'm basically doing what I'd do anyway. Thanks to Althouse for the idea (in one of her earlier posts) of blogging this way.
