But, Beck pulled it out of him. The conversation was very sad.

Are Palladian et. al. sure that they want a boring accountant in office. This one is pathetic.

Sad. Pathetic.

CPAs are being hated for no reason here. What if the bold little weasal won? That will be a turn around on the Palin is a Loser tag spun into the air everywhere election morning. She can make up for his perfectionism with one of her facebook postings that makes Obama's teeth to grind.

Is he now going to pull an Al Franken?

former law student said...

Hey if he won he won.

As long as he doesn't pull a Norm Coleman.

I've read several places now that there were several polling districts where Hoffman got ZERO votes; those votes ended up going to Scozzafava - and I've seen nothing that says those vote tallies have been corrected.

This could end up like Coleman/Franken, depending on the absentee ballot count.

The extremes finally meet at the other side of the circle.

From what I read, Hoffman understands he'd need about 2/3 of the absentees to pull it out.

Given the fact that ACORN has been stealing close elections for several years now, the Demos deserve a little agita for a change.

I sure hope he doesn't pull his groin-nobody wants to see that.

Please. Don't make me choke on my leftover fun-size Snickers. From Rolling Stone (many others, floated to the top of the queue):

Was the 2004 Election Stolen?
Republicans prevented more than 350,000 voters in Ohio from casting ballots or having their votes counted - enough to have put John Kerry in the White House.

I think Hoffman recognizes it is a long shot, but frankly he conceeded too early. It is close enough. Let the votes be counted.

Wait, did Hoffman win a Nobel Prize too?

Your quoting a nut? With what evidence? There is also evidence of vote fraud in favor of Kerry in WI and in St Louis as well. As for ACORN, there have been a number of ACORN staffers charged with vote fraud in the past several elections and some have been convicted of vote fraud. The charge that ACORN committed vote fraud is not at all out of the bounds of reality.

cubanbob -- registering Mickey Mouse is only a problem if Mickey Mouse shows up to vote. Whereas voter suppression is straight-up fraud.

Our society is not a shame society like those in the East. We're a guilt society which says a crime is a crime, and a sin is a sin, even if its not carried out to completion. Hence if you put a pack of batteries in your purse, but don't walk out of the store with it at the last minute -- you're still a bloody little thief.

Cheers,
Victoria

Where I live, once your on the roll of registered voters, all you have to do is show up and vote. The Dems have prevented any kind of identity verification at the polls (while at the same time requiring me to show ID to buy cold medicine). Mickey would be welcomed with open arms.

rhhardin said...

It's bad form to unconcede. The finality of the vote is worth a lot more to democracy than its accuracy is.

All fraud does is raise the percentage a little to kick the bastards out, from 50% to say 52%.

Democracy doesn't care either way when the split is so even that fraud can effect it. It does care about finality.

The real question is, of course:

Has Hoffman brushed his skanky teeth yet?

Memo to Republicans: Never concede anything. There is never any gain in conceding. You don't get extra credit for conceding. Recounts get results. The more the better. Especially frivolous ones. Delay them, delay them, delay them.

After all, they're going to do it to you. Just ask Senator Al Franken who lost his election, but refused to concede and won the corrupt recount process as suddenly hundreds of needed votes for him just appeared out of thin air.

Former Law student,

Are you trying to say that no one planned on using those fraudulent voter registrations to cast a ballot?

If so, do you really expect anyone to believe that?

Regardless, Owens was sworn in too quickly. How can they certify an election, especially for such a relatively small electorate, before more than 10,000 absentee votes are counted?

Count 'em and roll with the results. None of the wasted money on lawsuits this time, please, from either side. Owens needs to spend his resources on spinning his already broken promises and Hoffman desperately needs lasers on his teeth.

And the plan to have ACORN help with the census was just an honest effort to get the numbers right!!

Look at the perps' MO. People paid to register voters fear to lose their jobs if they come back empty. Therefore they are tempted to make up names. Assuming that these street workers will come back much later to vote in the names of Mickey Mouse and Tony Romo makes no sense for three reasons: they're lazy, they're not well organized enough, and most important, they wouldn't get paid for their efforts.

There are plenty poor people that the street workers could register -- they just didn't work hard enough to do so.

Who says it's the street workers who come back to vote? Where did you come up with this scenario?

I've never understood the concession thing. Just count all the votes.

Where have I heard that before?

former law student said...

The street workers are the only ones who know the registrations are fake, at least not until they are discovered by the Registrar of Voters.

Remember, ACORN is paying them to register voters , not produce fake names. If fake names were what was wanted, the office staff could produce fake names all on their own, in the down time between visits from Young Republicans dressed as pimps 'n' hos.

Right, and only a "few" rogue ACORN agents encourage those pimps 'n' hos to defraud the government.

Who says they don't?? Who says they don't hire *other* people entirely to go down and claim to be Mickey Mouse?

Again and again, you are assuming the most honest, innocent behavior from an organization who has proved to be anything but. The whole pimp/whore thing was the tip of the iceberg.

Knox says, "You can't be this stupid."

Knox, you must be new around here.

former law student said...

In at least ten years of registering millions of voters nobody has ever said they did. And this is not a sophisticated organization -- otherwise they would have thrown the Pimp 'n' Ho out of their offices. If there were actual voter fraud, by now either one of the voters would have been caught, or one of the voters would have confessed. Think of the prize an admitted double voter would be for Sean Hannity or Rush.

Who did they hire? Where did they vote? Who paid them to vote? How did they get from polling place to polling place?
