What I said at 7:17 in the comment thread of the previous post. I've been waiting for a "café" to make my comment, but the Jonathan Chait thread seemed apropos.

CWJ.. fine comment in the previous thread. Media is the biggest culprit in this country in the age of Obama. We saw it front and center during Democratic primary of 2008. If you are not a Hillary supporter, you would perhaps say you don't care what happened in Dem primary 2008. But it was an eye opener for many of us. They usurped the pretender to the throne and nobody, no entity least of all the media who are expected to be honest brokers should have that kind of power.

Would things be different if the NSA spied on Obamacare website developers instead of Angela Merkel and the Pope?

How soon we forget

"What exactly are the impressive achievements of President Obama? The revival of the American economy? Surging job growth? The success of the stimulus package and the number of “shovel ready jobs”? Moving us toward energy independence? Reducing the debt? Reducing poverty and the number of Americans on food stamps? His oversight of agencies like the IRS? The Fast and Furious program? Ending America’s political divisions and unifying his countrymen? Perhaps his skillful handling before, during, and after the terrorist assault on the American diplomatic outpost in Benghazi? His successes in Syria? Egypt? Iraq? Iran? Peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis? And don’t forget his signature domestic achievement, the Affordable Care Act, which may rank among the worst major government programs in modern American history, a failure in both conception and implementation."

The result of the investigation into the Los Angeles airport shooting will determine that security was lax.

You heard it here first.

It's the irresistable baggage-tag effect.

There is a Loose Thread, Just Hanging There, Loose. I Want to Pull at It, But -- Perhaps Irrationally, Perhaps Not -- I Feel That I Should Not. I Cannot Identify Why I Have This Particular Feeling. I Attempt to Analyze the Root Causes of This Feeling But Find Myself Distracted By the Loose Thread, Still Hanging There, Loose. For Some Reason It Makes Me Think of Teeth, and Thoughts of Teeth are Really Thoughts About Mortality. So I Look at This Loose Thread and Say to Myself: It is Not a Tooth, Stop Thinking That Way. I Reach Out to Simply Touch It -- Not Pull It, No -- But Stop Short, Because of the Inchoate Feeling That I Should Not Even Touch It: a Distance Must Be Kept. I Also Now Realize I Am Running My Tongue Against the Back of My Front Teeth and Wonder if I Am Subconsciously Assuring Myself That They Are Still There. I Have No Sense of Needing to Pull a Tooth Free of My Mouth But I Have the Thought of Doing So, and Tell Myself: It is Just a Loose Thread, Let it Be. But Why Has This Single Particular Thread Come Loose in the First Place? I Thumb the Pages of My Memory to See If I Can Identify the Moment When it Came Loose, But Every Memory is After the Fact. I Am Perplexed.

There is no such thing as different "breeds" of dogs, just as there are not different breeds of humans.

Dog breeds are a cultural construct. All differences in the appearance, behavior, or size of canines is the result of culture and environment, not genetics.

Just like people, all dogs are innately and genetically equally endowed.
