Look at the one for yesterday too.

Is that site written by women?

I came upon this blog via an Instapundit link but never read him anymore, not even for maintenance.

The difference between doing something so that he doesn't complain and doing something because it makes him happy is the difference between a relationship that is doomed and one that has a chance.

By the way, where can I find one of these women who are supporting their boyfriends?

I can use some extra cash.

Isn't that rape? Or at least sexual coercion? The CDC calls that rape.

This is the problem with expanding the definition of rape. I think what should be done is to talk more in terms of what is bad sex, but then everyone has their own ideas of what good and bad is. I would encourage people to think freely and expansively about why they have sex and what they want from sex and make up their own minds about what is good and what is bad and to act accordingly. Say no to what is bad. (Something within what is bad is properly designated criminal, and where that is the case, you still get to decide if and when to call the police.)

Anyway, is maintenance sex bad? Well, the first question really is: What are you using the label for? Is it a positive notion? If it's supposed to be positive — as opposed to a sloppy, lazy way to go along to get along — then you should think clearly about why you are choosing to have sex this way and why it really is something good within your understanding of the meaning of life. Then, going forward, you should still pay attention to what you are calling "maintenance sex." If you drift from saying "I love giving love whenever X wants it" to "I know X will be frustrated if I make sex too difficult" to "I need to continue with my strategy of providing sex so X won't leave me"... you're not doing very well.

I was under the impression that good maintenance prevents major problems. Live and learn.
