"We’re not exactly thrilled that she added public thumb-sucking to the gotta-pee pose she’s know for..."

"... but we’re just happy to see her in something sophisticated and edgy and downtown...."

The next Senator from California. She is it! If that's style the world is doomed.

Never miss an opportunity to be repulsive.

She looks like a dope. There's a market for that?

Gotta-Pee Thumbsucking Lena would kick Guessed Wrong Creeper Joe right in the nut-sack if he tried to nuzzle her little cheek!

I might subscribe to HBO to watch that.

Shopping of the photo variety.

It would be nice to see her in an Orange-is-the-New-Black-style downtown get-up for false rape accusation. That is edgy. She could get her lesbian freak on with a diesel dyke.

The media created her because they loved the idea of seeing an ugly chick leading a sexually promiscuous life.

I like the pictures. But I don't know why.

Please don not ever blog about her again unless she is going to jail!

I wish I could use the remote from Click to fast forward to the day when I will never have to hear from or about this narcissistic sow ever again.

Those cheeks! I wouldn't be surprised to see that cover on Photoshop Disasters.

I'd like to write it, but I'd be harangued for body-shaming.

If you liked that, you will love this

BTW, the above is a warning not to click there. Seriously, you can't unsee it.

It's a theme day for my comments. This one fits with the Rail discussion earlier too.

Althouse,

You had a vote on what we would like to see blogged more in 2015.

You didn't hold a vote on what we would like to see blogged less.

My vote is for less Lena Dunham.

I'd rather watch drooling men kissing.

Yep, she's emotionally about six years old.

I'm so over Lil' Lena!

I wondered "who the h*ll even watches Girls?", and then I scanned the Elle comments:

I LOVE THIS. The hair and makeup are to die for, the clothes are sexy as hell, and I love the touches of diamonds. Rich girl downtown is like my dream aesthetic.

Almost all of them are like that.

I thought she was known for the flat-on-her-back-with-her-mouth-wide-open pose.

Some of these childish comment are more worthy of media matters or daily kos. Keep AA dignified, cocksuckers!

"Sophisticated, edgy, and downtown?"

It's a nice outfit she's wearing, but it looks like something I would expect to see on the Upper East Side, NOT worn by the "edgy" who live downtown.

(Which raises--not begs--the question: is anyone left downtown who can be called "edgy?" Is there anyone left in all of New York City who can truly be called "edgy?")

NYC, like San Francisco, has nobody who is edgy.

Can't be edgy in the huge gated community those two Progressive cities have devolved into.

Why must you keep afflicting us with Lena Dunham?

@damikesc:

Exactly right.

I liked when edgy only meant nervous and you had to say that some was "on the edge." That had a nice image of someone walking somewher dangerous. We've lost that.

I actually enjoyed her film TINY FURNITURE and got something out of GIRLS, but the "cult of personality" means that by now there's a lot I'd have to turn off in my head before watching GIRLS Season 3, so I'm putting that off for now. These photographs trying to glamorize her remind me of Courtney Love. Courtney was another rich girl who was both more intelligent than you might think, an exhibitionist, and fairly well crazed by not being very attractive. Courtney -- who lived here in Portland for quite a while -- was always very bad news.

As I said, I've gotten something out of some of Lena Dunham's work, but I really don't want to think about what she may become.

"She looks hot in that skirt"? Tom and Lorenzo are gay men, yes?

I believe that Althouse considers her a genius. Therefore, Dunham cannot be ignored.

We haven't lost that.

It's changed in a way that you don't recognize or choose to acknowledge.

Want to be edgy on a campus today?

Advocate for Ann Coulter to come and speak.

Edgy.

Advocate for bakers to NOT have to bake a cake for gay couples.

Very Edgy.

Non-conformists tend to think, dress, and behave alike.

We really are decadent. And with our leaders kicking the terrorist can down the road we will ave the Visigoths at the gates.

Edgy??? Pitiful.
