Drink and the bare-chested cheeseburger....

Manolo sees the artist and his demons. I see what looks like another example of taking the post-marriage struggle to YouTube.

ADDED: If you click through to the video on YouTube, read the comments. They're impressively sympathetic to the man. Posting this video was a vicious effort to humiliate him, and I'm touched at how few viewers go there.

Well, at least he didn't rage against blacks or Jews or something like that. I can like a man who wants little more than to eat his cheeseburger when he's hammered.

Seriously though... while it's a real shame that someone had to leak that to the public, as a private matter I think it's a reasonably clever means of intervention. Good for his daughter.

How is it that the sumptuously faux-accented Manolo always seems to put these things into their proper perspective?

Personally, I haven't watched the Hasselhoff-The-Wagon video. It just seems a little too sad. (Apparently, there are levels of voyeurism that are too much even for me.) Besides, I wouldn't want anything to tarnish my memories of his stellar performance in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

At least, so far as I've read, nothing David Hasselhoff has said about the daughter who made this video even approaches Alec Baldwin-levels of paternal anger. And he seems to be taking full responsibility for his diminished state, without excuses. Nowhere have I heard him quoted as saying, "I guess my problem started back in the '80s. After a long day on the set, K.I.T.T. and I -- well, I guess you could say we'd go out and get pretty lubricated."

It's a beautiful day outside, even though it's cloudy. The birds are chirping. A gentle mist is falling.

I've spent the whole day in office hours and a faculty meeting. But I suppose it is a nice day. I'm about ready for a cheeseburger.

And the cheeseburger would like to be consumed by a bare-chested Professor.

These things between kids and their parents just make me so very sad. There is no excuse for a video like this to be shared without the subject's permission. It should be criminal for things like this to be leaked to the public.

Aliens: Hmm... I've had many cheeseburgers, but have I ever eaten a cheeseburger topless? I don't think I have. Seriously, women are more likely to go bottomless to get comfortable.

I'm from Mars? Uranus?

I feel bad for hasselhoff. When asked , by his daughter why he is his current condition, he said because he was lonely. It broke my heart to hear him say it that way. I hope he gets back on the wagon and can experience sobriety again and good for him to have the foresight to ask his family to tape his possible relapse. He's a good guy and deserves support and he'll be getting it from me.

No objection here.

I try to get the Mrs. to do so all the time, but she demures.

Has this talk of bottomless women got anyone but me thinking of the Altman film, Short Cuts?

Julianne Moore has extensive screen time proving to everyone that she's a natural redhead.

As soon as I wrote that -- but not before -- I thought of "Short Cuts."

Professor--

Re: My comment above about the weather.

I truly cannot understand why you posts items that pander to base interests.

We are well enough on our way to becoming North Korea with commercials without your stoking the furnace. The fires of self-consumption are hot enough as it is.

Wow, you need to wade through an awful lot of spam to get to any comments about the actual video. How annoying!

Here is to hoping that the pride of Lyons Township High School can turn things around.

Not too long ago, when I walked the halls of old LTHS, Hasselhoff was certainly a joke. He was a successful guy who seemed to take himself a little too seriously (rumor had it that he gave out glossy 8x10s of him in a loin cloth at an awards dinner with the school boosters).

I'm not watching the video. I'll just hope that he finds his place in the universe.

A lot of aging stars must go through something like this. Shatner is probably one of the few who's re-made his image and avoided the unimportantness spiral.

Commercials, and cheeseburgers, and too much individual freedom.

You sound like Seung Hui Cho. Go rant about debauchery somewhere else.

If you hate this country so much, why don't you hijack a plane and fly it into a building? I'm sure that will convince Americans to think about profound thoughts like our eventual impending deaths and the insecurity of our lives. Somebody might even pick up a book about philosophy. Go for it!

Believing in individual freedom means accepting that some people will use it to watch Entertainment Tonight and put their old cars up on cinder blocks. Take it or leave it, george.
