Wow!

The sum is so much less than the parts.

She seems to have a Lindsey Wagner Bionic Woman thing going on

Wow indeed. Although, I don't think she's a bad looking woman even now.

To me, she looks like her daughter. And that's a compliment. For both.

My worldview is completely screwed up now.

Hillary, hot?

I'm more curious about the yet to be published piece in the NYT that is the "DEVELOPING" story Drudge uses this photo to tease.

Is the NYT dredging up the Wellesley Hillary Clinton to support her or to bring her down?

Are they trying to pump up Sen. Obama, or are they trying to solidify Sen. Clinton's 'progressive' bona fides?

She's always been, in one way or another, fairly attractive. She does need to work on her abrasive voice however.

Don't be fooled by the sexy, come hither look! Like the spider that has sex then eats the mate, she will devour you with a smile!

Ann Althouse said...

Vet66, I think that is part of the glamour.

No wonder Bill chose her to cheat on.

"glamour"

Isn't that what the fairy Folk use to induce trance-like behavior in humans?

Simon said...

Pretty. But I think she's hotter now, myself. And as with Tina Fey (as Vet66 alludes to) the total contempt that she feels for anyone of my political views just adds a bit of sizzle. ;)

If you look more closely at her face, and disregard the breasts and hair, you see it's the Hillary we know, just in an embryonic stage.

Hot, now?

Uh, those kinds of drugs are illegal. Sorry – even after accounting for the fact that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Hotter then, at that moment in time, from that camera angle, yeah.

But not now.

Cue up the 'Stones "Start Me Up" and play it backwards and upside down.

Tim - de gustibus non est disputandum.

Hilarious post, Ann.

That ain't nothing. Take a look at some of old pics of Nancy Pelosi. Now she was a looker, and still is for that matter.

Socialist or not, I can still admire beauty.

That was when she was a Goldwater Republican. That girl is gone.

Holy Craig!

I want to have Congress with the potential First Cleavage?

I be so cornfused...like the vox populi...

Melissa Clouthier said...

I thought the same thing, Ann. There's a picture of her with Bill that's very come hither from back in the day.

She's a handsome woman. If she just wouldn't talk.

Is her voice enough to impede her presidential run?

Simon,

Generally speaking, yes, but in the event of outliers (methinks the current visage of the Hillary!, esp. as a package deal, certainly qualifies as such), yes, there is a reckoning for taste.

Or do you think Avocado Green and Harvest Yellow still really cool colors for your home...?

Not just Pelosi. Out in California, other hot young babes married into serious money, then transitioned into politics in their middle age:

Jane Harman
Barbara Boxer
Diane Feinstein

"Look! Look! My husband is worth over 500 million!"
"That makes me a natural leader in the Democratic Party!"

I swear I once saw a picture of her and Bill, around the time they graduated from law school, in which she was quite ugly (he wasn't much to write home about, either, IIRC).

I had thought of her as getting more attractive with time (at least up to the 90's), but maybe I just stumbled upon a bad data point from the 70s.

I've said before on this blog that I'll never vote for her, but I always thought she was hot.

Meaning if I was single, I'd want to do her, but never salute her.

Because I appreciate her brains, of course.

Anyone else see Janeane Garofalo in that picture?

Not politically, I mean, but--just for looks.

This doesn't quite capture it.

I have never liked pictures where the woman is holding a flower like it means something.

Obviously a warning to men. Future Shrew, the caption could read ; the you-can-never-tell division.

The voice is the problem, in my opinion. But I think a lot of the "bad" pictures we've seen of her are really the fault of fashion, hair, and glasses. this is a great picture.

To the tune of the Rolling Stones song

We all looked good at age 22.

Hoosier Daddy-
Couldn't agree with you more about Pelosi.
Can you post links to pics of her from 30 years ago? I've tried and cannot find any.

I don't care, she could be wearing a silk camisole sitting seductively on silk sheets and she'd still have that look on her face that says "Gawd, I am sooooooo much smarter than you."

Trooper York said...

How about that Gilbert Stuart miniature of Helen Thomas at the Constitutional Convention...now that’s freaking hot!

blake said...

I didn't.

I keep hoping for some o' that graceful aging stuff to kick in. Waiting. Waiting.

That's a significant part of the appeal!

I could post a black and white, staged photo of a 22 year old Rosie O'Donnell and get the same reaction.

One reason that picture is so attractive:

No Sound.
