Cherry scene.

Cherry Blossoms

ADDED: On this overcast day, there were few people in the gardens. An artist painting a tree. Some older couples wandering and pointing things out to each other. Bunches of schoolkids, led by teachers. One kid asked if it was "wabbit season." Another kid wanted to know how they were going to get to wherever it was they were going. The teacher said: "We're going to use those things attached to your legs. We're going to move them back and forth. We're going to walk."

What did you tell the kid who asked if it was "wabbit season?" Did you tell him it was really Duck season?

My immediate reaction was that that tree looked like a pink fright wig sitting on top of that lake! One thing I like about your photos is that sometimes seem either surreal or hyper-real which gives them a dream like impression...

Wow, let's go to The Modern for lunch!

The kids weren't talking to me. I was just overhearing them.

It's a beautiful time of the year. I posted a fisheye view of a tree near my home on my own little blog.

Delicate Balance

A waterfall of pale pink, halfway.
A cascade of stepping
Mounds and arches, deep green,
The other half.
Pleasing.
Vertical and horizontal.
Falling and faltering counterplay.
Two tiny figures add charm.
Story, perhaps?
Pleasing.
Why?
Who can say.

The curving surfaces work well together in that photo.

A classic capturing of (or, at least, what will one day been seen as a classic capturing of) the unacknowledged reality of the current age:

Another kid wanted to know how they were going to get to wherever it was they were going. The teacher said: "We're going to use those things attached to your legs. ... "

!!!!!!!
