Oh, so sad.

I just love the Four Tops.

Very underrated group.

Didn't I do the best I could, didn't I?
So don't you leave me
Standin' in the shadow of love
I'm gettin' ready for the heartaches to come

What a great singer. He and Toots Hibbard are two of the best. The choir in heaven was just upgraded.

Touching words from Smokey Robinson.

I highy recommend "Standing in the Shadows of Motown."

Whenever I need to get geared up for mundane household chores I always put on either the Four Tops, The Temptations or Marvin Gaye.Stubbs may be gone but I'm sure his music will still be helping me get through life even when I'm eighty.

I saw them in Vegas once. What a show. The sweat poured off them and they really knew how to entertain you. The emotion and heart they displayed was unbelievable. He was a giant and he will be missed.

Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong
Are here to make right everything that’s wrong
Holland and Holland and Lamont Dozier too
Are here to make it all okay with you

One dark night he came home from the sea
And put a hole in her body where no hole should be
It hurt her more to see him walking out the door
And though they stitched her back together they left her heart in pieces on the floor

When the world falls apart some things stay in place
She takes off the Four Tops tape and puts it back in its case
When the world falls apart some things stay in place
Levi Stubbs’ tears run down his face . . .

--“Levi Stubbs’ Tears” (probably Billy Bragg’s best song)
