At the White Petal Café...

P1000150

... you can talk about whatever you want. I've been live-blogging the Kagan hearings, so do go down here and check the updates. I'm going to take a break from live-blogging though, because it's a tad tedious and because I have a life that isn't entirely lived in front of the computer monitor. I'll pick up later with transcripts and video clips.

The senators in this hearing look even dumber than the senators in the Goldman Sachs hearing.

How can we survive such imperious incompetence?

It's ok Quayle. We can survive them because "the economy is strengthening." Obama just said so on TV.

How did it smell?

What is ACORN up to now? Watch the video at www.ACUACORNAction.org to find out what ACORN has become. Track former leaders to ensure that we know when ACORN attempts to create new groups using fake names to continue their work.

I've got a magnolia in the front yard. Magnificent blossoms not much fragrance.

The offer I made yesterday to raise money to buy the JournoList archives for M. Althouse (which she characterized as "weird") got a backer with deep pockets today. Andrew Breitbart is offering a $100,000 bounty for the archives!

I am grinning like the proverbial Cheshire cat. :)

I like the sound of that. In answer to the question, when we get people sounding like Winnie Churchill's Christmas address to Congress in 1941, I think we'll be ready.

PS As to them looking dumber, remember, two of their leading lights are finding out about now if Dante overstated or understated conditions in The Inferno

Loving the continuing implosion of the left. And these are the same types of mouth breathers we see here that like to say things like Faux Noise.

Sweet bay, Magnolia virginiana, a/k/a swamp magnolia, looks like a lanky treeish rhody. In colder climes it is deciduous, but in milder evergreen. It has a fragrant sweet scent.

Other magnolias may or maynot have smell.

I hate drunks. They are really not worth having around. Then, when they drink themselves to distraction for years, they get Korsakoff's and become completely useless. I never work with drunks by choice, but sometimes a parent of a kid I see is a lush. I had one today who yelled at my staff for nothing, blew up my cell phone, then said "Do it if you want to" when I asked him if he wanted me to resend a fax I had the receipt for.

I hate drunks.

Me, too. It's just a matter of time now ...

I see Scott saw Breitbart's $100K JList bounty, but did anyone else notice Breitbart defending Weigel? Almost makes me thing Breitbart might give the kid a job, which would be...interesting.

In a similar vein, that mush-mouthed twerp over at Kos just realized/admitted that all of the "data" he's been publishing on his site, and that makes up the basis of his upcoming pamphlet, is faker than Kagan's originalism.
Old media, new media, non-media, it doesn't matter. The Libs are falling apart all over.

Jon Stewart channels Ann around minute 1.30 !

@Lance: Weigel has the potential to be a great reporter. He just needs some seasoning.

Unfortunately, working at MSNBC is not the way to get it. Oh well.

Is it fear or arrogance that keeps incumbent David Scott (D-Ga) of the 13th district from meeting with constituents? He was not present at a candidates' forum nor did he show his face in his district during the devastating floods there a few months ago. Many of his voters lost their homes in those floods, and a school was nearly completely underwater. He has a lot of good competition, including another African-American, a female physician, who has run against him before. She is a Republican who supports the Fair Tax. He might get his back side handed to him. He is a very good reason for term limits. David Scott is merely a useful tool.

It's a wondrous thing that in the USA, we have taken to photographing each other!

We are so evolved.

Translation: It was thorough, it could be successful, and it might benefit Dems. I'm outta here, commentariat!

I predict we're only three hours away from Althouse discussing the Pete Stark video. I also predict she won't point out what would have happened if the questioner had put his ego aside and let someone more experienced ask the questions, nor will she encourage her readers to do the same.

Question: since everyone's a tea parties leader, how capable - on average - is the leadership of the 'parties? (Hint: the answer's in the question.)

Trey, unfortunately, you are sounding an awful lot like "conservative-hater" Dave Weigel right this minute.

You need to clean up your profile, buddy. You still show a personal website, "Drinks and Tunes" that may feel hypocritical to some.

Hola, Lem!

Cómo está usted?

We're missing you here at Althouse, but still hoping you are enjoying yourself BIG time while visiting your family.

And here come those mouth breathers right on time at 6:41 and 6:50

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

Oh I know GMAY that was just such a god-awful intemperate thing of me to say!

Breathing through the mouth works as a last resort in those of us whose faces haven't been covered in duct tape by the fascist leaders of the paranoid delusional wingnut brigade!

(I thought you'd like that one. Don't want to disappoint!)

Now go play nicely with your toys by yourself in that corner. I know how much you hate to share them so I won't ask. Go on, now!

Good little GMayfly!

Ritmo overshot: "Oh I know GMAY that was just such a god-awful intemperate thing of me to say!"

Nope, just dumb. The usual.

(You've been working on your brevity though. Way to go Sport!)

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

So now it's dumb to believe that Althouse is generally antagonistic to the left and that she prefers flashy opinions to balanced analyses?

Takes a mouth breather to know a mouth breather, I suppose.
