Very pretty. A little reminiscent of where The Blonde and I stayed at Kona on the Big Island when we were in Hawaii.

Hope it's cool (comfortably) up there.

Inspired by Ms Althouse's twililights and those of my hospital room –
Ode To My One And Only – Vermiform Appendix:
The culprit has been apprehended
Will this affect my creative flair?
Will I wallow in gloom and untended
Retire to my poetic lair?
The doctors told me not to worry
Said you were sort of gratuitous toff,
But I'm still inexplicably sorry
That they had to cut you off.

Very nice, but Kona? Lake Superior is big, but I am pretty sure you won't see a marlin on the dock.

The middle one is quite good. Hard to tell its in the Midwest.

No matter what sway the Apostles hold over Althouse, they are geologically interesting. I thought to type out some old history of them but decided instead to link from last year.

The only tell being the out-of-focus people.

I'm doing a job in a small town. The guy i'm working for just got back from the bar and announced it's haunted. The bartender told him a small child was killed there and, for the rest of the night, he felt the kid tugging at his pants pocket.

I can't stand it.

Superior is gross.

Bayfiled tries but it is still in Northern Wisconsin in the middle of nowhere.

Really now Mary, is this as good as it gets?

How about restaurants and lofts and cafes and gays and hot people? Not a chance in those neck of the woods.

Just straight fat people.

You will never see anyone of color up there either.

No hot coloreds with exotic, hungry hogs.

Think Pasty Whites...with cankles and arthritis.

Martha's Vineyard has many hot brownies though.

I just thought of a name for that Titus-inspired book Althouse always dreamed of--

"Outrehouse"

Sorry dude, I don't get it. Anyway, the last one has a great shot of the sky but the foreground looks almost industrial & the first has a Turner Vibe but overall is just average.

The people in the middle one don't look so much "out-of-focus" as fat.

Obscure Trooper York reference. My fault. Sorry

Didn't see one in Kona, either.

How about a before and after set of pics taken in late January.

But how would anyone get to the far north that time of the year? Dogsled?

I love fore and aft rigged ships.

They look even better under sail.

"I love fore and aft rigged ships.

But Troll Titus hates them, because their sails are all white.

Heavenly shades of night are falling
It's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling
It's twilight time
When purple colored curtains
Mark the end of the day
I hear you my dear at twilight time

Interesting shots. Lake Superior, whenever it is brought up or referred to, reminds me of this.

LEFTISM DEFINED?

“He prefers the inequality that comes from a government hierarchy, over inequality that comes from voluntary trade.”

"I always figure that people who feel this way do so because they think they’re better at sucking up to authority figures than at creating value on their own. And my guess is, they’re right about that." -tagline and quote from Instapundit.

Pretty much sums it up.

Yeah, you don't want to go there. just stay out there on the coast, with all your racist brothers.

Lovely photos. The views of the lighted dock at dusk are very relaxing, like they're bidding me welcome. "Fine food, drink, and company await you!"

I am always struck by the many moods of Lake Superior. I am not surprised at this given my experience in the Navy in WestPac and the Aleutians. From Whitefish on a warm summer day it looks like one could swim across the placid waters to Canada. Then the seas that doomed the Edmund Fitzgerald come to mind.

Lake Superior runs the spectrum of extremes capable of warm and inviting to simply hellacious into the straits of purgatory. Truly humbling as it takes it's place in the pantheon of big water running ahead of the storm.

Time to reread Halsey's exploits in the anything but Pacific.
