You know what's beautiful about that rose?

There are no Japanese Beetles on it.

Yet.

Not only has Romney proven himself through the primaries to be the best candidate to challenge Obama, he's now demonstrating a formidable and adroit national campaign.

Whatever lingering doubts conservatives still have about his future governance, agility and success will breed support.

"Heh. This isn’t the McCain 2008 campaign."

Would you care to view a food related page? Pick one. These are the simplest things ever that are not weird or experimental or basically scrounging. My goal is to convey the idea and have it settle while viewing that if this idiot can do this then you can probably do better.

* Easiest bestest simplest pasta ever, a cream sauce.

Super bestest but lesser simplest with grated cheese

*Really nice salad rotating around

*Simple green salad, iceberg, goat cheese dressing but not rotating

*Kid's steak dinner, polka dot mountain mashed potatoes

*Potato and cannellini beans, with butter pump

I'll have the steak, Chip. I had an "American Kobe Beef" hamburger last weekend, and it was great. Don't know if it's the beef, or how it was prepared, probably both. Also had some fantastic mustard on something, but I can't remember where or what it was upon. (Is there egg yolk in some mustard recipes?)

And Liz Warren needs to learn when to stop dig-ging.

Obama was born in Kenya and declared in Hawaii.

People wont look into it.. because of the same reason he became president in the first place.

Its embarrassing.. that's the only silver lining. Its still possible for people to become embarrassed.

Chip Ahoy, I didn't know you were into food. You have @ least one redeeming quality.

Any way to move the viewer a little because all I get when I click on the pic on the lower right is a little bit of the bloom?

First of, thank you for checking the link. I feel flattered. :)

Not sure what you're seeing but it should be a 2x2 grid with four pics and clicking on any one should start a slide show.

But here is the link to the blog. You can see my other pics, most recently of a place called Zermatt in the Swiss Alps -- highly recommend it.

BTW, Ann was my inspiration to start this hobby. I am still resistant to buying a better camera, though.

Damn, Chip. That looks really, really good. And that's not just because I haven't eaten yet.

Thanks, pm. I have Javascript turned off on my browser (Chrome) so it works better. I'll take a look at it with JS on.

And, yes, I wish I had Ann's flair, but I'm a ghastly photographer. Her Fine Arts background definitely shows in her photographs.

This should come as no surprise, but still - Slate is offering now not one, but two pieces defending sex selective abortion. From their allegedly "women's" section.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2012/05/31/sex_selection_abortion_and_the_pro_choice_movement_why_liberals_shouldn_t_gulp.html

http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2012/05/31/trying_to_ban_sex_selective_abortion_won_t_cover_up_for_piles_of_republican_anti_woman_legislation_.html

They also have an adorable piece mocking that Olympian who talked about being a 29 year old virgin. Because women's choices are to be respected!

There's also the craziness in Canada with the body parts being sent through the mail. (Try doing THAT with Gmail!) And a porn star is wanted in connection with the crime! No word on possible cannibalism though.

Yes, that's right. Some crazy fucker in Canada is chopping people up and mailing the remains to their government. So far no word if the asshole has shown up anywhere.

I caught a small piece of Limbaugh's show today. He had the ultimate nightmare scenario for the Left. If a 'gay gene' is identified and can be screened for, the Left will have a fucking conniption if people start aborting fetuses (yeah, that's not the proper pluralization, so sue me) for having the gay gene. Rush predicted that the Left will have to come out against abortion.

Icepick said...

Okay, the Canada porn story pyscho-killer thing is now a cannibal story, according to The Sun. (And you know if it's in a British paper, it MUST be true!)

Money quote: The baby-faced weirdo was placed on the FBI and Interpol “Most Wanted” lists — as police discovered a grisly video thought to be live footage of the murder.

The ten-minute film shows the victim being stabbed in a frenzy with an ICE-PICK, before being dismembered, sexually abused and his flesh EATEN with a knife and fork. We investigated bisexual Magnotta, 29, when he was in Britain last December after the vile kitten video was posted on the internet.

Okay, so let's assume this ISN'T the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse*. Then why are all the crazies coming out NOW? The timing of the Canada story and the Florida story would seem to indicate that those perps wouldn't have know of each other's crimes. I'm not clear on the Maryland story's timeline.

So why is all this crazy shit happening now?

* If it IS the Zombie Apocalypse, then the only thing to do is to fall-back to your bunker, and maybe grab some more ammunition. Because you can NEVER have too much ammunition!

My personal work was referred in the NY Mag issue = http://nymag.com/news/features/barack-obama-2012-6/. NOW all know: The POTUS wins NOT in ONE WAY, BUT multiple ways. The CO way is what we in the CORE are focusing.

ROMNEY = HISTORY = LOSER

Want more details on what we in The CORE (COmmittee to Re-Elect) the POTUS do, then go to -- http://onpoint.wbur.org/2012/05/31/obamas-new-election-strategy

So why is all this crazy shit happening now?

For the record, my position is that this kind of crazy shit goes on down here in Florida all the time. This time it just made the press. It's really REALLY fucked up down here.

PS An astute observer might note that I have lived most of my life in Florida, but spent three years in the Baltimore Maryland area. And the Canadian victim was allegedly killed with an _ice_pick_. I will now go on record and say that I had nothing to do with any of these crimes, and have eyewitnesses that can place me far from the action. For the record.

Icepick said...

Also, for the record, the Canadian Cannibal is actually some white kid, so all the diversity freaks can now relax.

Icepick said...

Sweet Jesus, this Canadian thing is far beyond fucked up:

[Police] also confirmed [alleged Canadian Cannibal Luke Rocca Magnotta] had previously dated a paedophile serial killer, Karla Homolka.

What the fuck is going on in Canada that it is out-weirding Florida?

Well, just making conversation and because this kind of stuff doesn't filter through the way it used to... yesterday (or the day before?) the World Chess Champion from Inida Viswanathan (Vishy) Anand defeated the Israeli, Boris Gelfand in the championship match in tiebreaks.

It's been forty years since Fischer defeated Spassky at Reykjavik, a lot of water gone under the bridge for those of us who care about it.

Anyway, carry on.

I just got an email from the local Dem person running for something or other (Senate, maybe?) and the header was "Polluting the airwaves"... and then a bit about how the nasty horrible out of state reprobates running against the happy positive wonderful Democrat have been filling the TV with negative ads about them, polluting the process, but they, pure of heart, have never run a single negative ad!

I don't watch television, so I have no idea what ads are running for anyone, but I DO get their email. It's all negative all the time. But I suppose it's a case of not seeing it. After all, saying that the other side is trying to ruin America is just telling the truth, and using the word polluting and implying that the meanies lie is like white noise... it doesn't even register.

Actually... I got two emails. I got one from Heather Wilson which didn't mention her opponents at all... and that one from "Marty" attacking his opponents while claiming not to... attack his opponents.

Someone on FB posted that obnoxious quote from General Eisenhower—you know the one, about "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, is a theft from those who hunger, those who are cold," etc. And for the first time, I thought to myself: I wonder whether every warship launched during world war two was a theft from the legions of Jews who were waiting with fearful resignation to die behind the fences of Auschwitz. I wonder whether the rockets launched during world war II were theft from those whose only warmth from the cold on the streets of London during the blitz was the embers of their burning homes. Those who don't beat their swords into plowshares deserve the gratitude of those who, being under their protection, are at liberty to do so.

Simon said...

An addendum to my previous comment: "Give war a chance!" It's hard to overstate how much of an effect it had on my views about war that the Yugoslavian civil war happened during my formative years, and that we sat around the kitchen table most nights watching this horror story unfold on the evening news. "Why doesn't someone help?" That was my question then, and it remains my question now. We could have intervened, but we didn't. So I fully sympathize with President Obama's decision to deal with Libya, and fault him only for not having been more forthright; it would be unconscionable to sit on the sidelines and do nothing if one is able to help. We sat around on the sidelines in Yugoslavia, and tens of thousands died. We would have stolen nothing from them had we invested the sweat of our laborers, the genius of our scientists, and the hopes of our children to save theirs. So fuck you, Dwight, and fuck your cold, oversimplified bullshit.

Black and gay and no more accomplished than any other run-of-the-mill lawyer.

Governor Christie calls it a "political assassination."
