"Welcome to The Intercept..."

Glenn Greenwald invites you into his lair.

Something about being welcomed to something called "The Intercept" gave me that eerie "Outer Limits" feeling:

Watching that, you may think: But no, that's what Glenn is trying to show you that the government is doing...

Took a glance at the site. Confirmed what one can expect from Greenwald: The Outer Limits of The Twilight Zone.

Why should I trust Glenn? I can think of no reason. Not one.

"The Intercept" was the gigantic database of spy information and skills implanted into Chuck's brain in the TV series "Chuck."

Maybe he's riffing on Obama's trick of intercepting the joint as it was passed among friends.

Intercepted!!!

The episode "O.B.I.T" dealt with a very NSA-type subject....

While inquiring into the murder of an administrator at a government research facility, a U.S. senator is confronted with paranoia, secrecy, and intimidation. He ultimately learns the cause: An unusual security device that is used to monitor its employees. The Outer Band Individuated Teletracer (known by the acronym O.B.I.T.) is so pervasive and invasive that no one can escape its prying eye, at any time or in any place. It is even deemed addictive by some of its operators. After a missing administrator is found and reveals his knowledge of O.B.I.T., its sinister, unearthly origins and purpose become apparent; the device is, in actuality, an alien invention that was designed to demoralize and desensitize the human race in preparation for invasion.

Chuck's brain super-computer is the InterSECT not -cept! (Caps added for emphasis) It's like Obama saying "Jedi mind meld"- instant loss of all street cred. Good luck getting Yvonne Strahovski to autograph your boxer shorts at the next Comic-Con, dude.

Why?

"Greenwald is the biggest bore in the pundit world."

Not in the least. He's one of the few of any prominence who deals in matters of real import and who shows no political favoritism. In his prose he can be clumsy, but when speaking in person he is uncommonly sharp, articulate, and to the point. He is not without his faults, but then, who is? (There are others as good, maybe some even better, but most of them lack his media prominence.)

Why

Well, among other things, he has a proven record of sockpuppetry, that I believe he still denies to this day.

Cookie, you don't get it.

The moment Greenwald began showing no political favoritism, the garage's of the world received their marching orders to "officially unfriend" him.

It was cool when he was skewering republican administrations.

When he started pointing out the foibles of obama, well, time to get the voice-actuated automatons out there to tear him down a bit.
