What a bunch of tight-ass prudes! In days of yore, even a bunch of Benedictine nuns would have let that one slide by without comment!

I'd think she'd get extra credit for being clever with her chemistry symbols.

What a bunch of idiots. Ah, well, the internet will correct this. :-)

Her cleverness made the administration look clueless. She must be punished.

How many 17 year old girls have spent time looking at a periodic table, and coming away with a novel use for the symbols. Give her a pat on the back!!

Although, I generally think that "back that ass up" refers to a doggie style sex romp, and not starting over again.

What do these educrat idiots think they are accomplishing?

I'll bet she graduates with the class, and gets to speak too. This 'zero tolerance' goes too far at times. They are teenagers, and I guess the admin forgot what it was like.

Why was the administration upset?
I think her entry was cute.

I would hire her, if I had a job to offer. And I would want her at my college, if I had a college.

There's more in that vein.

My favorite element is Ununoctium (Uuo), #119 on the periodic table. It is a laboratory-produced element. Total worldwide production consists of three atoms, one of which was produced in 2002 and two more in 2005.

The graduation story to tell, retell, laugh about and drink to at class reunions. She needs to top it all off with thank-you card to the folks who had hoped to ruin her graduation.

Policy.

I think the principal and super should resign, because they are idiots.

To give credit where credit is due, I'm pretty sure they had some help figuring it out.

And to think parents get in trouble now if they don't make sure their kids are truant to these public "schools."

She got suspended mainly for writing "Sulfer", "Utranium", "Phospheros"

It's not a joke, it's a code. There was nothing offensive in what she wrote, only in an interpretation of what she wrote. And you can't police interpretations.

As Insty oft says, parents that send their children to public schools are guilty of child abuse.

These examples, numbering in the thousands make clear that public (federal govt controlled) schools have nothing to do with education, everything to do with programming the population with the proper group think. Individual thought is dangerous to the liberal cause.

Never forget that the persons making these idiotic decisions are among the most credentialed in society. A minimum of bachelors degrees and often Doctorates. Because it goes without saying that without advanced degrees people will act irrational.

Ununoctium would be #118.

She should count herself lucky. Had she eaten a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun (or the letter L), she would've been arrested.

Once again, public school administrators are proving themselves too stupid to be allowed around children.

Well, punishment might have been swift and sure, but not excessive. Then, back at the convent, they would have knocked one back, and congratulated themselves on actually teaching one of the knuckleheads some chemistry.
Unlike these clowns, who are so brittle and ignorant that every perceived slight to their authority must be
overreacted to.
The nuns knew they were in charge, these fools know they're inadequate.

President-Mom-Jeans said...

Sending a child to a public school should be considered a form of child abuse.

The names and pictures of these retarded administrators should be widely distributed for mockery and scorn.

iowan2 said...

Exactly why is the who, what, when, where, why, not the format of this "news" story? Specifically the names of the administrators????
All of the news stories fail to identify to credentialed idiots that make these decisions.
More evidence that the media is just fine with the status quoe in public education and are in no mood to make their brethren in education look foolish.

Remember the punishment is intimidation that keeps the next free thinker in line.

Just like the prosecution of D'Souza is not about punishing wrong doing, but intimidating conservatives that might publicly support conservative candidates to public office.

Educrats are fools, certainly.

I wonder why a girl would want to associate herself with that song.

I see they apologized. She ends up the hero and they're publicly humiliated almost as fast as you can say Jack Robinson. The internet is a scary thing.

jr565 said...

So, lets tie this in to the story about Richard Scudamore who sent out joke emails that were offensive.
My first reaction to this was what's the big deal. Why suspend her for this. My new reaction is she had it coming. Because you can't make statements that offend people even if they are jokes.
This is the new world. So, if it's good enough for the Scudamore's of the world, its good enough for this woman.
